About this procedure
Scholarships are announced once a year with a fixed application window. Competition is based on undergraduate grade, English language score and the priority list of specialisations.
Successful candidates sign an undertaking to return and serve in Iraq after completing the degree.

Check the announced specialisations
Only specialisations on the annual priority list are funded; the list is published on the directorate's website.
Meet the academic threshold
A minimum undergraduate average and a valid international English test score are required at the time of application.
Submit the online application
Applications are accepted only through the ministry portal during the announced window.
Attend the interview
Shortlisted candidates are interviewed by a committee covering the research plan and language ability.
Sign the undertaking and travel
The undertaking, guarantor documents and the university admission letter must be completed before the travel order is issued.
