About this procedure

Public-sector employees qualify on reaching the statutory retirement age or on completing the prescribed years of contributory service, whichever comes first.

The pension file is opened by the employing department and transferred to the National Board of Pensions.

Steps to follow

  1. Request your service record

The employing department issues a certified statement of total service and the deductions made.

  2. Submit the pension file

The file includes the service record, appointment order, identity documents and a recent bank account number.

  3. Await the pension settlement

The board calculates the pension on the final salary and the length of contributory service.

  4. Activate the pension card

The pension is paid monthly to an electronic card collected from the board's branch in your governorate.
