About this procedure

The ration card entitles a household to subsidised staple goods distributed through licensed agents. Newly married couples, newborns and returning families must update their entry to receive their share.

Steps to follow

  1. Visit your distribution agent

The licensed agent for your district records the request and forwards it to the food trading company.

  2. Provide the civil documents

Attach the family record book, identity cards for all members and the residence card.

  3. Confirm the household head

One adult is registered as the card holder; distribution is released only to that person or a notarised delegate.

  4. Collect the updated card

The updated card is delivered through the same agent once the central register is amended.
